On September 10, my husband and I were thrilled to welcome our little girl Maddie into the world.
I’m more smitten than I ever could have imagined. I can’t wait to see who she becomes.
Packing for the hospital was simple. The most important thing, to me, was my camera. I didn’t want any labor and delivery photos (I don’t think I’ll ever forget that moment of meeting her for the first time), but I did want to be able to take photos of the baby once we were in recovery.
The candle and cupcake were generously provided by my sister-in-law. I went into labor on September 9th, and my family was gathering for a birthday dinner for my father. I knew I wanted to take a photo with a ‘0’ candle in a cupcake, so when my sister-in-law asked if I needed anything, I asked her to stop at the store before visiting us to get the treat. She ended up bringing a pack of four cupcakes, which was a nice added bonus (because who doesn’t love cake?)
Maddie is healthy and perfect. She’s the most beautiful thing I’ll ever have the honor to photograph.
